At DIMM, the quality and health and safety of our equipment are not mere marketing claims: they are certified by recognized international certifications. Every product we distribute meets strict standards, verified by independent bodies. Here is the detail of each of these certifications.
NSF International
National Sanitation Foundation — United States
NSF certification is one of the most demanding in the world in water treatment. Issued by the American NSF International body, it guarantees that a product has been independently tested and meets strict criteria:
- Sécurité sanitaire — Health and safety — no release of harmful substances into treated water
- Performance — Performance — the product actually does what it claims (reduction of chlorine, heavy metals, etc.)
- Intégrité structurelle — Structural integrity — pressure resistance, seal integrity, material durability
The most common NSF standards in our field are NSF/ANSI 42 (aesthetic effects: taste, odor, chlorine), NSF/ANSI 44 (ion exchange softeners) and NSF/ANSI 58 (reverse osmosis). An NSF-certified product is audited every year, with random tests on the production line.
Produits DIMM concernés : DIMM Products Covered: Orus 2 water softeners, reverse osmosis systems, under-sink filters, filter cartridges.
ACS — Sanitary Conformity Certificate
Ministry of Health — France
ACS is a mandatory French certificate for any material or product in contact with water intended for human consumption. Issued after analysis by a laboratory approved by the Ministry of Health, it certifies that:
- The product does not alter the quality of drinking water
- Materials used do not cause any migration of dangerous substances (heavy metals, organic compounds, etc.)
- The product complies with the requirements of the French Public Health Code
ACS is specific to France and is a regulatory prerequisite for the marketing of any water treatment equipment in the country. It is renewed periodically (generally every 5 years) with new migration tests.
Produits DIMM concernés : DIMM Products Covered: the entire range distributed in France — water softeners, reverse osmosis systems, filters, fittings.
WRAS — Water Regulations Advisory Scheme
Certification Body — United Kingdom
WRAS certification attests to a product's compliance with British water regulations (Water Supply Regulations). Recognized throughout the United Kingdom and widely accepted in Commonwealth countries, it covers two aspects:
- Approbation matériau (WRAS Material Approval) — Material Approval (WRAS Material Approval) — materials in contact with water do not contaminate it
- Approbation mécanique (WRAS Mechanical Approval) — Mechanical Approval (WRAS Mechanical Approval) — the device is compliant hydraulically (backflow prevention, pressure resistance, cross-contamination prevention)
Obtaining dual WRAS approval is a mark of quality recognized far beyond the United Kingdom. It is particularly required in international hospitality, health and food industry projects.
Produits DIMM concernés : DIMM Products Covered: water softeners, Autotrol valves, John Guest fittings.
RoHS — Restriction of Hazardous Substances
EU Directive 2011/65/EU
The RoHS Directive is European regulation that restricts the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment. It prohibits or strictly limits:
- Lead (Pb)
- Mercury (Hg)
- Cadmium (Cd)
- Hexavalent chromium (Cr VI)
- Brominated flame retardants (PBB and PBDE)
- Four types of phthalates (DEHP, BBP, DBP, DIBP) — added in 2019
RoHS compliance is mandatory for marketing electronic equipment in the European Union. It protects both user health and the environment, especially when recycling devices at end of life.
Produits DIMM concernés : DIMM Products Covered: electronic valves, control boxes, UV sterilizers, Orion water fountains.
WaterQ
Quality Label — Belgium
WaterQ is a Belgian quality and excellence label for materials in contact with drinking water. Issued by Belgian bodies, it certifies that:
- Efficacité de traitement — performance réelle mesurée en laboratoire
- Durabilité — résistance des matériaux et longévité des composants
- Sécurité d'utilisation — conformité des raccordements hydrauliques et électriques
- Traçabilité — identification des composants et des fournisseurs
Materials do not cause any contamination or alteration of drinking water
Produits DIMM concernés : DIMM Products Covered: all equipment distributed in Belgium.
CE — CE Mark
Regulatory Mark — European Union
CE marking is a mandatory conformity declaration that affirms a product meets the essential requirements of applicable European directives. It covers:
- Directive Basse Tension (2014/35/UE) — General equipment safety (no risk to user)
- Directive CEM (2014/30/UE) — Electromagnetic compatibility (no interference)
- Directive Machines (2006/42/CE) — le cas échéant, pour les équipements comportant des pièces mobiles
- Règlement REACH — enregistrement et sécurité des substances chimiques utilisées
CE marking means that the manufacturer or distributor assumes full responsibility for product compliance. It is a crucial quality assurance document for European markets.
Produits DIMM concernés : DIMM Products Covered: entire range distributed in Europe.
